Radio Olduvai: Entropy Wins Another RoundAbout the previous post: see, there was supposed to be a radio show to go with it, but then that fell through, so we made another radio show to go with it. See the radio page—the button is on the left of the page. Discuss amongst yourselves. Posted by Søren Renner on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 07:55 PM in Comments:2
Posted by James Bowery on August 28, 2010, 06:36 AM | # My apologies if I misinterpreted your position. Soren should have it out in MRR with a panel of the sincere commentators to his Olduvai posting. 3
Posted by Matt Parrott on August 28, 2010, 10:55 AM | # James, Soren is the one who’s done me wrong, but I accept your challenge! 4

Posted by Notus Wind on August 28, 2010, 11:39 AM | # Søren + James = Good Radio The both of you have good chemistry and should consider regularly broadcasting together as time allows. One last criticism about Side 11 that wasn’t covered in the broadcast. The slide tries to identify the geometry of the surface with this concept of “implied infrastructure” without first taking into consideration any potential dependencies between the choice dimensions themselves. In other words, much of the geometry of the surface could be accounted for by a direct nonlinear relationship between the choice variables in addition to any “implied infrastructure” lurking in the background. This is a highly nontrivial matter because almost any set of choices that we make about our energy infrastructure are bound to have all sorts of embedded nonlinear relationships. Of course, as Søren correctly points out in the broadcast, whatever the shortcomings of this slide they don’t detract from the usefulness of the adaptive landscape as a philosophical concept. I certainly didn’t mean to suggest anything to that effect with my little barb. 6

Posted by PF on August 28, 2010, 03:57 PM | # Holy f Soren, this gets funny after the “riffing” starts. Soren: “do you understand how riffing works?” LOL! Soren: “Can you tie this in with AI singularity?” James: “Why would I want to mention AI singularity in this context?” Soren: “I dont know.” LOL!!! That was absolutely precious. Soren: “Say something great.” holy fuck, absolutely hilarious. 8

Posted by PF on August 28, 2010, 11:24 PM | # Occidental Observer has an article by Lasha Darkmoon about the history of Jewish prostitution (?). So weird. 12
Posted by Søren Renner on August 29, 2010, 11:22 AM | # PF: I have invited Ms. Darkmoon to appear on MRR but am not holding my breath and advise that you not either. 13
Posted by Fred Scrooby on August 29, 2010, 11:39 AM | # “I have invited Ms. Darkmoon to appear on MRR” (—Soren) Love that girl! I’d pay to hear that interview although obviously it’s best for her that she keep her voice from being recognized.
