Whole Language comes to Thailand

The most disturbing trend I’ve noticed during my visits to Thailand - until now - has been the rise of a ‘youth culture’ with its attendant economy and anomie, directly challenging the traditional role of family authority.

Now an acquaintance in Yala told me her nephews are being taught the so called

Whole Language Method

, a.k.a. “sight reading,” “total word configuration” or “word recognition.” This reading method has harmed countless American children.

After the 1999 economic crisis the youth culture, rather than being retarded, accelerated. The crisis was caused George Soros’ currency gambols; after Soros raped the Thai Baht the IMF arrived to repair Thai finances. (The devil has two horns).

Next I fear two parent working families, day care for children, accompanied by a plummeting child birth rate… sound familiar?
