In the same way, the Europeans with one part of their mind tell themselves that the Muslims are just marvellous, while with the other part of their mind they strictly avoid them. Answer is obvious : you have An Educated Psychopath, the parameters remain but the standard becomes outstandingly more advanced. So then what is achieved?
