Diasporal Hijinks: Christopher Hitchens and the Janjaweed

Trying to visualize the various contributors to the talk files that underlie Wikipedia articles, the only image I can ever seem to conjur is that of a large, finely-tipped Dildo affixed to a spring, which being once pulled back, recoils forward onto a keyboard and pounds out Wikipedia articles, which are then selectively edited by an electronic brain. It’s not a commentary on the intellectual level of the “contributors”, which I estimate as being generally first-rate: it’s simply the only way I can think to explain some of the random nonsense that makes its way into Wikipedia articles.

Following the bobbing dildo analogy, the Wikipedia contributors come in a variety of sizes, colors and scents. Do you doubt that a Wikipedia contributor can have a scent? Then read the discussion pages for various contested historical events regarding Cyprus, the Balkans, the Caucasus, or the Arabian penninsula—scroll down to the verbal fist-fights between members of opposing nationalities involved in the conflict, and watch them convey their ‘passionate’ vision of history in broken English: does the room not suddenly smell like goat? Carpets that have been around for a few generations, and possibly been used to transport livestock? How do you explain this? More importantly, how could we use these tricks to improve MR?

The most pleasant sounding of the many translations of the word, found in this interview with aid delivery pilot Kelsely, is “The Ghosts of the Horses”. Basically warriors on horseback. Now I wrote this essay because one thing bothered me: the universal lack of imagination which causes people to express amazement that Black Africans could conceive of themselves as being Arab. The knee-jerk reaction of confusion upon realizing these people are not tan-skinned. Here we have a list of kosher contributors – usually these guys have the last say – who, although they have rejected Mother Racism, nevertheless can understand identity in no other dimension than skin color.

My reply, in miniature. Ethnic identification need not be a process motivated solely by the quest for truth- if it were, the black Arabs of the Sahel would show little interest in the 5% or 10% (my estimation) Arab ancestry which they may have. Christopher Hitchens, who thinks or claims to think the ideas of Thomas Paine are going to sweep Kurdistan like wildfire once the American University is set up, would not be so virulently Jewish if it were simply a matter of truth: his Jewish ancestry is a small proportion of the whole. Barack O’Bama, whose psyche was marvelously taken apart in a recent piece by Steve Sailor, would not be so profoundly pro-black in spirit, for he was raised in the absence of other black people.

Ethnic identification amongst diaspora peoples, or mixed peoples, is very often a question of sly subconscious calculation—if an advantage is percieved in identifying with one group, be it only an excuse to acquire foreign culture, or an excuse to carry further a battle already begun with people on home turf, or the indulgence of a contrarian tendency present since birth: sophisticated people born in a diaspora develop an ability to oscillate between poles of their identity as events demand. The availability of two nations- and thus inevitably two outlooks, histories, skill-sets, and behavioural repertoires (forgive me that last choice of words), makes it a great temptation to play both games depending on how the wind blows.

Christopher Hitchens plays the same game these desert nomads do: though with much more sophistication, if less bravery and forthrightness. When in Britain, he wielded the razor of his Jewishness to extricate himself from any visceral ties to the British tradition, allowing only an abstracted remnant to remain: this remnant he understood as being best summed up in the American Founding Fathers. This quitted him of any troubling obligations or pesky problematic questions—the worth of the Anglo tradition lay in these writings, and that was sufficiently demonstrated by 100 years of American political success. Beowulf and the Brixton riots were just more or less inconvenient way stations for the glory of these floating deracinated principles, which are greater in themselves than the people who invented them.

In the inner chambers of his heart he loved not sports or nature but Trotsky. Or rather, he loved fierce debates, the plumes of intellectualism, the pleasures of being vehemently contrarian, the switches and levers and freedom from consequences of save-the-world political theorizing, and the whole fire and passion in the world of ideas which – he perhaps felt – was sorely lacking amongst his tranquil British fellow-citizens: hence his love for the Jews. When on the Bill Maher show, some of his pro-War comments were booed by the audience, he gave them the middle finger: when his brother referred to his fellow-traveller syndrome, he excommunicated him: what this man wants is fire, an opportunity to oppose everyone and flaunt his intellectualism while doing it. He has heard so many times that those who go against the grain are the true, misunderstood geniuses, and that a strongly-held opinion beats a weakly-held one, that he carved this formula on his heart, and forgave his every transgression in the name of developing his genius. The justification for all of this bluster is nothing more than his ability to write witty and cutting prose, and his appetite for literature, sadly. That may make a noisy, self-appreciative alcoholic pedant, but nothing more: and we, the culturally impoverished of the 21st century, have to listen while this apparently neckless man explains his Vision of History to us. It’s enough to make one long for the good old, bad old days of the Black Plague. I’d rather be covered in bubos than have to listen to a big red-faced bubo adoring Thomas Paine, or have to watch a bunch of old Jewish Trotskyites throwing a foam-party with the ashes of the founding fathers instead of foam. I imagine them taking hits from a beer bong, mixing jelly and cream-whip into Jefferson’s ashes, painting their naked bodies with the mixture, wrestling on a matress with the dug-up corpses of various political worthies, and building themselves together with the ash-mixture into a giant necrophiliac matza ball in which they sleep as if in a coccoon, to emerge later as Neoconservatives.

It doesn’t matter if you’re 1/8th Jewish and 7/8th British, or if you’re 1/20th Arab and 19/20th Sudanese Black—an impassioned interest in leftist politics and contrarian posturing can make you Jewish, and a desire to be associated with the Kingdoms of the North while sticking it to your southern neighbors can make you Arab. They know perfectly well their heritage is mixed, but the side that gets emphasized—even fanatically, or to the point of self-deception—is the side which when played up offers to get them a leg up in the world. Ethnic identification amongst mixed peoples is often less about tallying percentages, more about sheer will to power.

Too bad I failed to draw a parallel between Hitchens and that other shining star of Anglo-Jewish Democratic Journalism Mark Steyn. It would have been particularly good if I could have found the quote where Mark Steyn says that Anglo nations can perish and be swamped by foreigners, but the tradition of liberal democracy must live on. He and Hitchens have a lot in common, I think.

I would consign it to the Trope file Potential Frolic, and would not even consider it as a tactic- if they are that dumb, then there would not much we can do to improve their cognitive abilities to analyse things.

The Carpet part was interesting, as in Iran during the Iran- Iraq war, Iranian soldiers wrapped Kids as young as 12 up in carpet and watched them roll over mine fields for a made in Chine 2 cent trinket- the carpet was used primarily so the kids body parts were constricted to the confines of the said carpet. There were then, and are armies of Brainwashed kids ready for this type of action.
If that is the type of Ideological thinking and innovative mind set we can utilize then we have failed before we have started.
And any Proletariat contribution ought to be considered repulsive and never given the acceptance of a constructive idea; it is puerile trope and garbage, not worthy of any consideration other than repulsive- incompetent and totally clueless consignment.

Iran in this instance is perfect- in Old Pharisee language was to mean; Land of the Aryan; thus the theology espoused by the Nazi’s, now days surly it must be some major embarrassment. That part of the world and Islam is Insane- just as insane as our Freak show of P C and sub Intellectuals- liberalism; I do not concur that it is a Jewish conspiracy or influence; that part does not make any sense to me.
Although much has been written about it , I do agree in most cases on the language - but the target area of blame is misguided and confused, and some must actually coin to the fact it becomes its own paradox.

That said, I do see My home land Australia deteriorating in front of my eyes, and turning into a New South Africa in full engine revolution and top gear speeding into that direction - meaning – those that made civilization possible have been made the enemy, and the enemy can resume occupation without resistance; needless to say that is the end of Civilization and a return to primitive barbarianism if it is allowed to continue - I do not see any point in blaming a ghost I can not see , but react to entities I can see and that I can positively identify. Without prejudice, we will act regardless.

Another long day for me in the Slave trade of my efforts to be stolen by Governments to reward the incompetent- for gives me if it is not as articulated as I wish it, but II hope I explained it Ok.
Undoubtedly if I didn’t , I do have a spare flack Jacket close by. Ha

Christopher Hitchens is a buffoon and a faux intellectual and his political/social path is similar to other jewish or semi-jewish celebrities even though he (or used to) bashes Israel and he once mocked Elie Wiesel. Take for example Bernard Kouchner the interventionist/globalist cultist who agitates the Human Rights flag every time the US government bombs something who has been named Foreign Minister by President Sarkozy.

Kouchner began his career as a communist activist in the 1960s then gradually abandoned hardcore economic socialism in favor of the usual trotskyist erase-all-borders build-a-global-government suck-the-West’s-blood BS. He passionately hates Serbs or whatever Serbia represents in his mind (like Hitchens) and he supported the invasion of Iraq (like Hitchens again).

Kouchner’s father is a jew and his mother a french protestant. This pattern seems to fit too many individuals to be a coincidence.

Over at Taki’s, Tom Piatak very nicely takes Hitchens down a peg (hat tip to iSteve.com) followed by some worthwhile commentary in the readers’ thread underneath — this for example, by a former schoolmaster signing as “Simian, All Too Simian”:

Cut with a machete through Hitchens’ art of the wordsmith, puncture his bluster, take some sandpaper to his entertaining repartee and cute wit, and take any recording of his oh-so-proper rotund English accent (an accent that causes flat and nasal Yankee Anglophiles to swoon, and Anglophobes to be on guard) and play it on high speed to sound like The Chipmunks, and what do we have? Not much, and Mr. Piatak correctly awards this “Public” school lad his merited grade, a grade that resembles the shape of an egg.

So fierce indeed is Hitchens’ temper tantrum against Christianity that I suspect, however self-confident he may appear, that his purblind hatred is in fact the product of a deep, penetrating fear – a fear shared by his fellow village atheists, who have not been shy this year to mount crates at the publishing world’s Speakers’ Corner. That fear is a fear of Islam, a religion on the march. The mindless strategy of these panic-driven men is to open fire instead on Catholic Christianity, probably because some adherents of Islam simply would undertake to treat Hitchens as it has Rushdie. Ought we call him a coward and a poltroon? Maybe that’s below the mark.

In his (desperate) defense: Is it true that he opposes killing children (“abortion”)? Is he an Orwell fan? Well, as Anna Frank liked to say, there’s a little good in everybody.
