I look at it like this… the average citizen is cut off from their best chances in the government because your ally in the government is stuck between a rock and a hard place.  They have their tendencies, their opinions, yet they are burdened with worry because if they attempt to break the status quo they will immediately make enemies and friends will be few and far in between compared to any organized groups they might upset.

The cure?  Start underground organizations.  Petition people on the streets to put their name onto a list and sign some people up for an underground organization.  When the tough times come, or if the government is being antagonistic to your cause, activate a mailing list and organize the people in one part of the globe.  The problem with government is not only the dispersion of important people who could fix it but the fact that they have way too many people to deal with.

I wasn’t exactly sure if this was an English forum although I am starting to think it is.  I think your government will come around very soon.  I mean, how many people can you fit on one island?  When they start to retract on free immigration, the EU begins to squabble, things start to get messy… If anything, your government could start a brilliant revolution that shows the rest of the world you don’t have to be nice to everybody… because with limited resources, you can’t.
